Cool Falken Tires

When I got my supra 3 yrs ago, it came with Falken tires, stock rims and size. The receipt was in the glove box. They lasted about 25k miles. I could not find any around here, so I went with Kumho Ecsta 711's ($80 ea). They only last for 10k miles on rear (2 sets now),& 20k on front. Nice even wear, 4 wheel alignment is good.

I just saw some Falken's on sale at Sears for $86 each. Has anyone used them?? What's your opinion?? The Sears guy said they are rated highly, and are 30k mile tires.

Umm, we need model numbers. There are shitty Falkens and there are good Falkens, just like any other tire.

I LOVED my FK451's. 245/45/zr16. Sticky and wide enough to handly stock-ish power levels.

The 512s are good for the price. I have a set on the Avalon and the Corolla Coupe and am very happy with them. They're not a set of Michelins, but they offer great value IMHO.I had the 711's on the Solara and they seemed to wear very quickly, compaired to most of the other tires I have used.

I rather enjoyed my Kumhos. I had a set of ecstas on my IS300 and they were a great tire. Put over 24K miles on them and still had plenty left when I got rid of the car. And, no I didnt drive like a Grandma...

My only possible gripe was that they got very hard during the winter...temp around 20* at night (this is Florida, so no snow). Other than this, great tire..even before you factor the price

Well...I've decided to try these Yokohama Avid V4S. They have a 500 wear rating, with A & A. $96 at Americas Tire here in town. I want to see if they'll last longer than the 10k miles I get with Kumho 711s.

I'll let you know how they are after I've run them awhile.

Thanks all, for the input.
