USA which turbo to use?

I have a single turbo lexus and need to get a new one (turbo i mean). What is a cheap but reliable turbo to go with that makes good power for 6-20 psi range? Ive been looking on ebay and theres a lot of garret knock off turbos for like 200-400. I see people say they hear they are bad but i cant find anyone who actually owns one that is bad. Opinions on this??

are you talking about the SS AutoChrome turbos? if so, i would stray away from those. if you dont want to spend much, keep an eye on the forsale section on www.SupraForums.com and turbos pop up from time to time. otherwise, it is hit and miss with the SS AC turbos, lots of people having really bad experiences with them. good luck!

Id guess hes talking about those Master Power turbos that sell on ebay. Maybe manuf. by SSautochrome, but i dunno.. I do know they are crap the housings have been knowm to fall apart....i even heard they are held together with some sorta glue or epoxy. Dont know how much thruth there is to that. But just find yourself a nice used turbonetics. Youd be much happier in the long run.

Also, what size turbo/s are you looking for. Some more details would help people give you ideas. 6-20psi, lol, come on.. you gotta give me details then that. What are you running now.. do u wanna upgrade or just replace? etc etc etc

CHRIS (toyobeastly) Wassup man, this is Dasupra on supraforums. Good to see ya hear. I dunno how well any of the supra stuff is. Im just hear for some tacoma info. See ya @ sf.com

Right now Im running 6psi, but i just got new rods/pistons with 8.5:1, so ide like to go with something more. Current turbo is a garret t4 but needs a rebuild and when it gets one its going on my mitsu, so somehting a little bigger would be better for the 2jz. I like the t60-1'a but putting out 900-1200 for a turbo doesnt fit my budget now, just had a house built and went to mexico. thats why the ssauto t61's are appealing, cheap. but if they are jus crap n epoxy'd together then...better wait 'n go with something thats gonna work. hers the master power turbo, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Maste...spagenameZWDVW and the SS auto one, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Super...spagenameZWDVW . If you have any info on where to get turbos like this place http://www.turbocalculator.com/index.html let me know. With the 8.5 pistons what boost should i run? what kinda turbo is best? ide like somewhere around 500hp @ 6500 rpm. also with an external wastegate setup what size do i use? 40mm or 50mm? what kinda spring? 6psi? 9 psi? what exactly do springs do in realtion to the boost control and my boost controller?
