i was wondering: what is needed to transform a 5 speed non-turbo into a 6-speed? also, will turbo kits made for twin turbo supras fit on non-turbo models?

sorry, but there aint too many supra nuts here right now, and those of us don't have mk4s, nor have we done the conversions you speak of. you can get ahold of SUPRAFANATIC on www.supraforums.com he can give you some pointers, as he has rebuilt a few of the newer supras from the ground up!

Well that is some good questions. First going from a 5spd to a 6spd requires alot of work including changing the dif and the driveshaft i would guess the tranny tunnel would not be wide enough for the bulky Getrag so that would need to be cut and rewelded. As for the turbo kits they donot fit the blocks are close but the manifolds dont fit on and the turbo kits would require some fitting since there are clearence problems with stuff in the engine bay.If im not too wrong and this is close to my GS300 swap its a frustrating swap when done alone and can be quite costly since the getrag is like 2000$ US used and 5000$ new.BTW the diff needs to go since the gearing would be way off and the car would be slow .
