draining coolant

ok another dumb question. im trying to drain all the coolant, and got the radiator drained. but for the life of me i cant find the drain for the motor. according to the service manual its on the right rear of the block. But i can not find it. anyone got an suggestions to where it and how to get to it. maybe a land mark to find it by ha.

i was thinking of just pulling the lower hose and letting it drain that way... but figured i should follow the book instead, so i need to find that block drain....

I never EVER get all the coolant out of a motor. I was installing the motor and it still dumped some on my shoes. If you need to clean it, just put water through it w/a hose or something, otherwise, don't worry about it.

ok i was just wanting to follow the book like i said i could just pull the lower hose off, i really just need the radiator off so all the fluid doesnt need out. i was mostly curious to where the drain was, dam car everything is hidden in the worst spots lol

Draining Coolant

On the right side of the engine, just aft of the exhaust manifold is a short drain pipe with some sort of cap on it, held on by a clamp. My cap erroded over time and I lost coolant from this pipe. Could it be your engine coolant drain???

No, I believe you're talking about a cap that's on there from a JDM swap. I've got one on the coolant line that crosses around the back of the block because you have to cut off one side, and cap the other.
