Hi, i have an 87 supra turbo and my power steering is not workin anymore. I was wondering if anyone knows a site where i can get a new pump, and approximently how much it will cost. Also how easy is it to install, i am no mechanic by any means, but if its easy enough where i dont have to pay someone then thats great. Thanks
Drain the reservoir. Look down inside. In the bottom there is a metal screen. Get a screw driver, a stick, or some thing that you can reach down in there and scrape it clean. The screen sludges up over time. It is a fairly common cause of PS failure.

ok so i thought i knew where then power steering pump was and could figure out how to drain it, but turns out i dont, so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Thanks
well that made it a little better but when it idles i still have no power steering and when i've driving and make sharp turns the steering whines? any suggestions?
Install it yourself, with the costs of shop labor there's practically no reason to pay $60-80/hr to get a PS pump installed. It's a simple, remove old one, Install new one in same place, fil, operation.

Who came up with this 500px wide BS?
Remove yours, take to NAPA, exchange it for a rebuilt. Call them first as some take yours and send out to rebuild, meaning it could take a day or 2 from when you drop it off.
Other than the one bolt you need to access blind and around a corner, its not a difficult job. Cost me $90 to have my pump rebuilt 4 years back (hence I know of the delay if they build yours...)
