Noob needs a hand

hey supra owners im currently looking at an 88 supra 7mgte motor , turbo with an automatic to purchase. i know little about mk3s tho and need some quick answers. does it need to run on 91octane or is 89 87 good enough? stock hp/tq? moddable? how would this do as a daily driven vehicle? thanks!

Mine runs fine on 89 octane ethonal 10% ethanol. I have never had a problem with it on that. Stock is 230 ish horse and 252 torque that is close might be off by 2 to 3 on either someone correct me i don't wanna look it up. The 7mgte is a very good modder and responds to simple modds very well (intake exaust ect). Head gasket is the main thing you have to watch out for. Replace it with a mhg and arp head bolts. And you should be good to go for a while. What is the motor going into? Just curious. Good luck.

I run no less than 91 in my car all the time.

I would only hold it as a daily after swapping to ARP Head Bolts and making sure I didn't up the power level.
