Brake light bulb in '89 turbo Supra

The dummy light for a bulb failure is on and the only one that isn't lit is the one in the spoiler (this is '89 turbo).

How do you replace this bulb? there are no screws in the lens or the spoiler. There is a plate that looks as though it should slide out, but it will not move. Niether the owners manual nor my shop manual address it.

Is there a trick to this?

well, this is a bit tricky. you HAVE to remove the actual spoiler out of the trunk lid.
Be careful NOT to rip out the main connector to the spoiler brake light. Then very carefully slide philips screwdriver into one of the centre holes. and undo the screw, then slide the whole light out. And by the way it is LED light fixture, sorry no bulbs to change.

Thanks, but I'm not sure you are talking about a '89. My '89's spoiler is not "in" the trunk lid. It is an elevated wing. I would remove it by taking off the two ends of it that sit on the deck lid.
