hey everyone, was just hoping for a bit of advice. im ment to be picking up a set of 18's for my mk3 supra, the offset is 45mm and i want to fit 225/40/18 tyres will these fit in the arches without rubbing the shock or sticking out the arch
18x8 or 18x9 with 225 should fit fine. Skinny IMO, but will fit fine.
I'm with Bgrieger on this one. However, I've also seen 18x7 and such, so it all depends on the depth. Either way 225's should fit fine, the wheels might just be ackward.

Who came up with this 500px wide BS?
Don't mean to hijack tha thread...but the wheel offset... say for example i have 18's... the X # is the offset if i understand correctly...does that mean how deap tha dish is? Sorry i'm kind of confused on how offsets work...or how to properly read them. Finally, If i'm buying a set of wheels locally, and the old man doesn't happen to know the offset, is there something written on the rim to tell you? sorry to hijack your thread but its on topic
thanks
~Ahmed
nope. 18x8 for example is 18 inches in diameter, and 8 inches wide between the bead surfaces. Offset is usually mentioned seperately, and is usually measured in mm rather than inches (inch measurements of "offset" are refered to as back spacing, and are measured very differently...).
Offset is the distance between the centreline of the wheel if you cut it in half and the surface that meets the hub when bolting it on. Most imports and front wheel drives are negative offset, meaning the mating surface is closer to the face of the rim, where rear wheel domestics (classics, musclecars) tended to positive offsets, where the mating face was closer to the back of the rim than centre.
