if that makes it to north america, i doubt it will be in Toyota badges. most likely it will end up as the replacement for the SC430.

It should look familiar, it was a concept from last year. It was part of the whole LF-X line of concept cars. The only one that has made it to production is the new Lexus IS line. If a sport model makes it we will probably see it as a replacement for the Soarer/Lexus SC. Here is an article on Edmunds from last Feb.

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=104818

I wouldn't hold your breath for a new Supra. If we were gettng one any time soon it would have shown up by now in the LA, Detroit, and New York auto shows. It is simply not a market segment that Toyota is persuing right now. They are focused on the hybrid and truck markets. Expect a lot of hype for the Camry in the near future. Toyota has selected it as the platform for NASCAR Nextel Cup competition starting in 2007.

That's not a supra, that's a G35/350Z look alike.

Toyota's new designs

I really don't care what they call it.

One of the engines they list, doesn't exist, the other one is used in Lexus's currently and makes 305hp. That's less than a MkIV Supra. On top of that, No supra should ever have a V6. They've had I6's since their inception, putting in a V6 or V8 (especially N/A) would be a bastardization of the Supra name.

Never say never. The Skyline had an I6 until Nissan put a VQ series V6 in it.

And in my book it's a 100% bastardization of the Skyline name. Not to mention the fact the new "skyline" looks like a G35/350Z. Nevermind how shitty the VQ motors are (especially if they get boosted..).

I'm NOT impressed.

We went from this:

Whooopeeee.

I don't know about anyone else, but yeah. That's not a positive step forward.

The G35 is the new Skyline. The only reason it is called a G35 here is the market segment. We get Infinities here. It the same as the Toyota/Lexus relationship. We got the SC300/400 they got the Soarer. The reason it is called the G35 is because that is the new chassie code. The last gen was 34 this gen is 35. Don't go knocking the VQ engine. The VQ powered
350 Zs in the JGTC have brought an end to the domination of the MK IV Supra. Also on the
V8 bastardazation thing. The JGTC Supras have been running 3UZ series engines for the last several years.

that looks hella slick love that theres may be a convertiable hard top. i saw this on another forum and this guy Ohtori translated it

this is what he said;

"Using my basic Japanese skills and a Kanji (Chinese character) dictionary, I've translated it to the best of my ability to the following:

Picture 1, beside the word 'New' in english:
'New Supra Prototype Secret Document--3 Million Yen and 350HP!'
3 million Yen is about $25,500 US.

Below the car: 'This is the base model horsepower'

Picture 2:
I can't figure out what measurement is 1850mm.
Next measurement is (probably) Track: 1300mm/52".
Wheelbase: 2600mm/104"
Weight: 1400kg/3080lbs.

Main Text: '5L V8 model with 430-450hp! (Coupe version)'

Red sidebar: 'Closeup!'

Picture 3: 'V8 and V6 engine types'. The V8 is 430-450hp 5L, and the V6 is a 330-350hp 3.5L.

Picture 4: 'Base model V6 coupe for 3 Million Yen?!'

And that's the basics of it. I guess someone leaked the document to the magazine Best Car"

I don't really care about JGTC, VQ's are shit. They don't take boost well, pop easily and in order to actually make decent power they have to be sleeved and have a decent amount of internal work done to them. 230whp off the showroom floor doesn't impress me. We've got a 600whp/wtq TT 350Z here in town that I've ridden in, the ride's impressive but by the time it gets moving it's time to shift. Cost? You don't even want to know.

You know what i think... the Supra motor should be exclusive to only to the Supra, not no borrowed motor from the Camry, or whats to be the IS coupes. It will give the Supra more...whats the word ... well I think you get it.
