89 auto problems

i work with a guy that has a ‘89 turbo auto and he just upgraded his car with a new BOV, down pipe, boost gauge, FCE, manual boots controller, cone filter and new exhaust. he had them all installed at performance shop so he doesnt know what happened. but the car isnt running right at all.

the symptoms:
#1. at start up it is cool but then once it gets to temp it gets a miss in it and you can hear a vacuum leak. the leak is on the drivers side under the intake manifold on a metal vacuum rail. the rail has 4 nipples on it going left to right it is the 2nd one that has no hose on it and we cant find where its supposed to go. if you put your finger over this nipple and rev the car it will rev up fine but when it falls back down it will hit about 500 RPM for a second then stall. cause?

#2. next there is a hesitation if you try to rev it up from idle. you press the pedal and it has about a 1 second delay in the engine then goes up. cause?

#3. and finally once its running and warm, during normal driving conditions if you start from a stop and just ease into the throttle the car will not go past 25-30 MPH. however if you gun it, it will have no problems until you let off and then it it starts doing the stalling like in problem #1.

he doesnt have a computer so i am trying to help him out as best as i can because he loves his car. we spent about 2 hours looking at it last night so i could describe it a little better on here and hopefully get some answers. so what do you all think?

I don't know about tha vaccum leak, but Check tha wires...because i remember tha day after i put my exhaust on...tha car began running like shit, and totally just kept boggin out and making weird noises...and it took 2 days to figure out it was tha wires....so i always suggest that...

You already found the what is likely the problem. Vacuum line not hooked up. Fix that and if there's still a problem, look for other issues. Vac routing diagram should be under his hood.

Solve the first issue. If all else fails, plug it.

Vacuum Diagram.

If you described it right, it's #9099-92003. I think that's either the heater VSV or the Fuel Pressure Regulator VSV.

Connect it up, then see what's wrong. You'd be surprised how much one hose can change things.

I also pray he got that Fuel Cut Eliminator installed with some injectors and a fuel pump.

no new pump or injectors. what going to happen with them still stock? but thanks for the vacuum diogram. the one he has isnt that detailed. and the hose that isnt hooked up is #90999-92002(L=180) but there is a hose that is connected to the 17650 VSV and goes somewhere else. thats why i couldnt find what was missing. hope this fixes the issue if not i will be back.

If he raises that boost too much he'll kill that engine. They can only take 11-12psi (depending on age/wear/tear/etc.) PSI before leaning out and cooking stuff.
