Question MK3 With 295-50-15's and 10 " Rims ?

Im ready t o upgrade my supra's rims & rubber...again.I want to go with a 295-50-15 on a weld pro star (10" rim - 6.5 BS) But Dont want to spend the $700.00 it will take to "experiment" with the idea..Just wanted to know if anyone here has already done it.

*NOT lowered

-I have a 15 x 8 rim (5.5 BS) with a 275-50-15 and fits fine.

a 295's on a 15"rim?
My dad's Prowler has 295/40R20's in the rear and even that looks weird. You tires are gonna be almost as wide as they are tall.

Dood, You're way off..a 295-50-15 is 12.3 in tire width & 27.1 in diameter.
I had this tire size on my t/a and loved the way it looked.

My question comes down to "what do you have done that you need 295's?"

Right now i only have a an 7m-ge with i-h-e and an lightened crank pulley..But i have traction probs at the track now and the supra is getting a 7m-gte this summer so im just fixing a prob before it happens..But the "look" of fat tires tucked under a RWD car is one of the reasons i deceided to buy a supra and that its a toyota product..So those are just plus's for me.

Just remember, too much grip + torque = Snapping drivetrain parts
But whatever its your car

Wait, you have a 7M-GE, Non-Turbo and you think your 275's are having traction problems?
You couldn't be making more than like 230whp with IHE. Maybe you could spin 'em for a second in first... maybe? I know guys making 598rwhp/618tq, and they ONLY have 315's.
Are you sure it's not your clutch slipping?

SR5_4WD, He has to actually make torque before it can be used to break anything.

Traction problems? LOL! You don't make enough power to have tracton problems with a 7MGE with 275s. I don't even think you can break 275s loose with that little power. My Silverado makes 275 lbft of TQ off idle and I have a hard time breaking its 255s loose on dry pavement from a standing start. I have to hammer it really hard. That is with hard compound truck tires and an open diff. Hooking up at the track isn't an issue. That stickey launch pad provides plenty of grip.

It sounds to me like you have a posing problem, not a traction problem.

I'ver been drag racing since i was 16..I know all about twisting driveshafts and broken rear ends.I always do a monster burn out and have an auto..As far as traction i never hook right up, I always loose a sec or so off the line.I want to hook right off the start, Not getting it with the 275's i have now.

Get your hands on a limited slip diff available from the turbo cars. Drop one of the right pinion size for the NA and enjoy the 275's hooking up!

Not in an N/A, Auto Mk3 you don't. Having googled your name, you've been critisized by others before for wheel issues and you're desire to go larger than suggested. So, with the fact that this isn't your first time around the criticism block, We're obviously just a bunch of people on a forum; However, we're telling you, 295's are not the solution on a car that's making sub-200rwhp.
