2nd Generation need help with 130 speedo

i just recently purchased my first toyota, an 82 celica supra, and i must say i like the car a lot. all the work i have done to it has gone rather smoothly except the new instrument cluster i installed with the 130 speedo instead of the 85. the speedometer is not calibrated i would assume. now my question is, do i need to replace an exiter ring for the VSS or what. i have looked around for information about the calibration procedure to no avail. any help would be greatly appreciated. also, my car has a lot of rust, i am looking for a good clean strait chassis in the phoenix area, dont really care about motor and tranni. any tips on that would be greatly appreciated also.

You will have to probably replace the speedo gear with one of the correct ratio.

right, but do you know how to go about it besides trial and error. if the gear needs to be replaced, can i just get one off of a Celica Supra the speedo came from, and will it fit without modifications? i can do the work, but i need a database for what im doing, would you recommed a site or something?

You can transplant the spedo gear from the car it came from provided that the tire size and rear end gearing are the same.
