If it were up to me, Toyota oil pump, water pump and bearings. Shot pien your own stock rods, and use stock or aftermarket hyperhuretic pistons for mild build, forged pistons for wild. Also throw in a new damper from Toyota. Reusing 20 year old rubber tends to be less than ideal for damping.

Many have used clevite bearings, but I don't think you're going to find a lot of savings there. Rings I'd also just throw in Toyota ones, and whatever you do stay clear of total seal rings.

For my build I chose to go with the following components:
- JE forged pistons (0.020" Overbored)
- Clevite Bearings
- HKS MHG
- ARP Rod Bolts
- ARP Head Studs
- New valvetrain parts (valve stem seals/etc)

I've looked at my Oil Pump and it looks great, don't see a reason to replace it. Stock rods have proven themselves to 700rwhp, so I didn't see a reason to even shot peen them. All new Toyota Gaskets, New Front/Rear Mains.

Stay away from aftermarket gasket sets (obviously except for MHG )...go toyota gasket kit or go home . I'm going to have to side with Bob...unless you're going for crazy power factory components will more than suit your needs.

If you're gonna do it, do it right the first time.
