3rd Generation hood insulation

so with summer in the desert coming up im looking for more ways to keep my motor cool. i herd ripping out the stock hood insulation will help drop the temp a bit, also weather stripping? is that true and what else can i do to help keep under hood temps down the best i can when it gets up to 120F degrees outside here soon?

Myself, I'd fix any cooling gremlins, change the thermostat if it's been a while, the coolant, flush the rad etc.

Those 2 ideas work with varying degrees of success. The insulation really won't do much either way, and the back of hood weatherstripping will ensure you get to smell anything funny. Your climate control pickup is right there. You also get all the heat in the car as it sucks all that in. Weather strip at the front keeps air from bypassing the rad...leave that on in place.

Well I'm not getting kickbacks and I have not tried it, but I see no reason why
it would not work. Might be easier than installing a hood scoop.

It's not cheap.
