3rd Generation Upper Ball Joint?

Why is that none of the parts stores anywhere have an upper ball joint for my 1990. Am i just supposed to get it from a dealer or get a whole new upper A-arm?

yup. It is not a servicable part. A while back there was a couple of guys doing them...they bored out the ball joint and pressed in another, but it was fairly pricey. Not saying the Toyota one is cheap, but if you did bushings at the same time you were in the same ball park, and didn't know how long the replacement would last

Look for part outs on supramania/supraforums/ebay. Again, no guarantee you'll get more than a couple of years out of a used set at this point, but that will be the lower cost option

Heh, I just sent a car to the junkyard this morning that had them on it.

Start searching.

I am seeing at least one place on the internet offering replacement upper control arms for the MKIII with and without ball joints. I have not called to ask about them - could this be an aftermarket improvement? I need one rear joint....
