4th Generation Better ride quality.

This may be an odd question, but anyone know how to make the car ride better?

More ride height with a softer spring and shock. Tires with a bigger sidewall on smaller rims.

So long as you're not going too low, you could try and lower tire pressures a tad without going below spec - that is, assuming you're running more psi than recommended.

Higher profile tires (that bigger sidewall)...

What about the ride don't you like? You didn't specify whether riding better meant you wanted more sporty or more cadillac'ish. IMO, stock they were quite tame, though firm, but the seats suck for longer drives. The 3rd gen cars were far more comfortable, even with stiffer upgraded suspensions entirely for this reason, although the weight of the seats is a penalty to performance....

my comment was in regards to your statement "why would u want that? supra's arent built for ride quality, they are built to kick some ass" it is obvious that supras are built for all around speed and comfort....

A little more information. My girlfriend drives a NA but needs to start commuting with it and wants a better ride.(don't worry about the whole just get a new car thing) I've already changed the tires from 265/35/18 to 245/45/18. I personally have no problem with the Supra's ride. I actually think that the stock Supra suspension is too soft. Anyway that's the reason for the question. I may replace the stock shocks to some Monroe's or something which may make it softer. Thanks

Noticing you mentioned 18's...switch back to stock rims and 50/55 series tires you'll see a difference. New stock replacement dampers are going to fell like new factory shocks...unless she's running on an upgraded suspension, it may even feel stiffer...

45 series tires? Do those things even have a side wall? That is just a strip of rubber that goes on the outside of the rim. Like Bob said, go back to the stock rim with a 50/55 series tire. That will soften things up a bit. Make sure it is a normal passenger car tire, not some high performance tire. High performance tires tend to have a stiffer sidewall. You want a nice soft sidewall that will flex and soak up some of the bumps and road noise. If you have an aftermarket lowered suspension then go back to the stock suspension. That will help things as well. Remember things made for the track are not made for comfort.
