3rd Generation MKIII Intake Manifold

I was just curious as to if anyone on here has made their own intake manifold for the MKIII. I do not like the way the air from the intercooler runs right back over top the head. It really doesnt make any sense in my mind for it to do that. The intercooler has good placement for airflow and then you take and run the cooled air right over top the turbo and head.
My question is really if anyone has made one what material they used, im looking at using 1 1/4" 304 Stainless Steel Sch. 10, any thoughts?

Use aluminum, it dicipates heat better, and is alot lighter.

Quite a few people have made their own front facing manifolds, take a look around http://www.supraforums.com or supramania.com

Exhaust tube is cheap, easy to get a hold of and work with.

Frequently called FFI (Front Facing Intake), rather than our Heat Soak Inducing POS setup that it comes with stock.

Usually you have to do some clever stuff, keep in mind the stuff that you'll be relocating:
- Throttle Cable
- Cruise Control
- ISC (Idle Speed Controller)
- Throttle Position Sensor
- Alternator & A/C
- etc.

It usually takes a bit of work, to my knowledge there's not a plug-n-play kit out yet (mainly because people like going to different sized throttle bodies while they're at it(See: Q45)).
