rear lifts

Hi, i have an 87 supra turbo and i just bought new hydrolic lifts for the hatch... i'm having trouble getting the old lifts off because i cannot get the trim off without snapping it, it seems. How can i get the trim off easily because after that i can get out the bolts that hold the old lifts on. Thanks

Remove the rear seats, remove the trim from the entire harch area, starting at the license plate area. You may need to remove the plywood floor as well to give more access.

There are two nuts holding them onto the hatch frame (remove all rear interior pieces to get to them), and then the nut that holds it to the hatch it self at the pivot on the end of the rod.
