Either a fuel cut, or you blew something up. Can't say for sure, you need to be more specific. Is the motor stock? At what RPM did it cut out? What is the maniflold pressure when it cuts out? Exactly what happens when it cuts out?

Unless you've upped the boost or have a boost leak, I'd guess it's just the Rev. Limiter. You've given us almost no details to go by though. No actual numbers, nothin'.

Thanks

Im gonna watch for the next time Jeeves, thanks i apologize for the lack of info. It just happened so fast for a second i had the o s#i& face and was confused. It had to be around 5k rpm. After it reved real high for that second when the rpms dropped it just went on about its business and drove and sounded fine. the boost is set for about 8-10psi if i should turn it down let me know cause i dont want to break anything. My motors got 200,xxx so sensors and things could be going bad. i just replaced the IAC Valve a few days ago.

Ok, so it's just a manual boost controller?

If you went into the 11-12 psi range, it could be fuel cut. If it's lower than that, I'd look for boost leaks.

Yeah i think thats what happen it was very cool last night and i could have very well went into the 11-12psi range. I will still look for boost leaks anyway just to make surethe turbo itself is suppose to have just 50k on it so I will find out. Im trying to hold off on getting another turbo until I get another motor and go internal on it. Thanks for helping me out im glad this forum is here alot of people would be stuck in the dust on questions. One more Q: do you think i should go all out and rebuild this motor with the miles being so high i mean internals and all . Or should I just get another motor?

Goals

Well my goals from the start was to find a mk3 in fair or good condition and start from ground up. When i came up on this on I figured i would just half to focus on the motor, and everything that made that run better like the electronic side of upgrading. The car body wise is in great shape no big body kits or anything. Not that i am knocking bodykits its just not me. I like them simple but a lick of style. I want to take the motor down and get New rods, valves, 3 angle valve job, MHG, ARP bolts, port and polish, upgraded ct-26. Or just get a bigger turbo. I want the LIPP neck, and that divorced down pipe too. I have high flow cat and 3inch pipng with HKS hi-power exhaust. 19x8.5 front and 19x10 rear RAYS Sebring rims an older model by Volk racing. Also 2.3 fr 2.0r drop. I just want a smooth running engine with about 350rwhp strong. Would this 200,xxx motor take that kind of rebuild if so it would save me about $950 for a new motor. Hit me with your opinion. Im gonna work on getting some pics up here so you can check it out. Im gonna try that image.com you said.

350hp can be made on the stock ct-26, no need for a bigger turbo at all. It's really not that difficult.
Intake, Exhaust, Boost Controller, Hard Pipes, and some stuff like that should put you right at that mark.

That's a pretty radical drop though, I just went with a meager 1" lowering.

And for the record, Body Kits are crap. Who wants added weight on a car that (in your case could weight 3700-3800 lbs)?

Yeah its low, but the wheels are big so it does not look that low. If they were 17's it would probly sit on the ground. Im just gonna get a JDM motor and get that set like I want so i can drop that in over the winter. I see alot of cheap intercoolers on ebay whats a good intercooler with hard piping. Also Rabidchimp.com sells a 62mm throttle body and this lexus AFM with 550cc injectors is suppose to help the power flow out T or F. Yeah I was saying i Would never get a body kit I like the stock look with some nice wheels thats all.

Throttlebody isn't going to be needed for 350. You're looking to overbuild this for your goals. Really, don't go with a cheap intercooler, go with a decent setup.

For instance: http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/perf...rs/Intercooler
