Hello folks,
I need your help. Okay my Dad has a 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo with a 7M-GTE engine.
His old battery was bad so he got my uncle to get another battery. My uncle is like a self mechanic....So he got this battery (not new) that is a Group 41, 675CCA battery.
Just checking the original ratings, I find out that it is a 600CCA battery (this is from Interstate batteries site - is this wrong?) so the battery that is in there isnt too far off, just a tad stronger.
Basically what happened after he drove it for a while and a couple of days after, he found out that the alternator postive post wire going into this other terminal burnt. This it probably shorted/sparked/went bad.
Now he wants to know how he can fix this problem? He is thinking if you could tell him the name of the object that is circled, he could find one in the junk yard and replace that single object.
Now I am curious, how does this happen when the battery is 75CCA more stronger than stock?
I figure the positive ground wire is sooo damn small and thin (I was surprised) that it couldnt possibly hold that much amps, let alone the stock 600CCA. This wire is like 20 gauge or something, look at it in the pics.
THANKS folks. Need everyones help!
