Question lookin on buyin a 89 yota supra!

Is there anything i should look for in the 89 supra?? as in engine wise or interior? Had these supras had any recalls on them? its a white 1989 toyota supra non turbo. also what is the targa and mkIII???? also would it cost much to install a turbo on? and where could i find the OEM spoilers

The head gasket commonly blew on them. VERY VERY VERY VERY commonly.

Targa = Removable Roof.
MKIII = Mk3 Supra = 1986.5 -> 1992 Generation Supras.

Wingless = Gorgeous.
You cannot just slap a turbo on the N/A. The block is different, the (manual) transmissions are different, ECU's are different, etc. Your best bet is a 7M-GTE (Turbo Engine) swap.

they dont have any recalls on those head gaskets cuz i no im my 3vz yota they had a recall on that!

Toyota did not perform a recall, or change the spec that caused the problem in the first place, so a Toyota dealer will still fix it the wrong way to this day.

By the time most owners experienced their first one back in the early 90's, they were out of warranty and the car was going out of production. There also were not a huge number of owners, and no internet (to speak of) for them to get together and figure out how common the problem was..
