Is this worth it

For the supra guys out there who played around with their engines i would like your suggestion thanks....

im looking to put a 7MGTE in my Truck, i can get the engine from a scrap yard for $125 so i would like to rebuild (reason because i know its good for sure) but on the process of rebuilding i would like to achieve 26MPG average in a truck with 32-33" (street tires) i know in the supra you can get an average of 22.. So this is what i had in mind to get that

a very light port in the TB, stock Turbo and head
Lighter pulleys
Fuel to air adjuster with complete ignition set
Intake and keep stock piping size
I also think at this point I can get close to 300hp

7Ms in the older Yotas are a nice swap. Do not get high hopes for mileage. Mileage is largely determined by cruise RPM which is determined by gearing. While I6s do make decent low end for their size do not expect to be cruising way down low in the power band. Especially with 32-33 inch tires. If you want to do this swap for more power, then go for it. If you want to get decent mileage then get a Rolla. Don't over gear trying to lower the cruise RPM for better mileage. It will actually make things worse. You will end up working the motor harder out of its power band. It will take more throttle opening to maintain cruise. More throttle opening=more fuel consumption.

One really important thing: DO NOT LEAN OUT THE MIX! If your intent behind the AFR adjuster is to lean out the mix for economy you are headed for disaster. Especially with the turbo motor. Turbo motors tend to run a little rich to keep detonation under control. Leaning out the mix will make the motor more likely to knock.

Its very fun, the only problem with all the work is getting the shortened driveshafts up front. its very do-able. I helped a friend put a 2jz-GE in his truck. That alone was better than the 3.0 v6 Sounded great too.
