None of the supra engines were 2.0L in north america. There was the 1G-GTE twin turbo powerplant that would fit your needs, but again, you mentioned you wanted an NA. Besides, the engines are not as rare as any support for them as there are next to no parts available here.
A race built 4ag might also suit what you are looking for quite well, and could use the RWD drivetrain from the AE86 corolla. Again, smaller, lighter 4 cylinder powerplant, long racing heritage, very common and easy to work with, lots of aftermarket support. With high compression and cams it would get you into the power range. Still an iron block though, so it won't be a featherweight, but given the supra engines are all in the 350-450 lb range depending on which one you used, it would be a drop of close to 25% of the weight. Stock I don't think they had the power you were looking for, but I might be wrong on that.
3sgte is swapped commonly into AE86's, so I'm almost positive the tranny from the AE86 works, or that there are adapter plates available. I don't know a lot about them however...they were used in the 4th gen supra by several race teams that needed to lighten the front end up in Japan, but the means of fitting one to the supra drivetrain I have no idea about. Heck, they might use the AE86 transmission for all I know.
If the 6 cylinder is preferred, among the supra engines, a 2.8L 5M, 3L 6M or 2JZ-GE would be the best bet and get you to the middle or upper end of your power goals with minimal work, and good reliability. Some aftermarket is available for them, in that headers and such can be sourced. I don't know if there is anyone with cams available for the older M series, but pistons are if you wanted to bump the compression up some. The 2j has excellent aftermarket support.
