When I was taking the front left wheel off, one of the lug nuts were crossthreaded and it snapped the lug bolt in half. While I was doing my brakes, I figured I'd fix that too, but, for some reason, there doesn't appear to be an area to remove the lug after removing it. At this point, I don't see any alternative, the wheel bearing is probably going to have to come off. If there is an alternative, please let me know!
After I remove the cap on the nut on the backside of the bearing, I noticed the nut was crimped, and I was told that it will still probably come off, it's just going to be a huge pain. So at the moment, that's the plan, use something like a lug wrench to stabilize the bearing so that the bearing can't turn, and hope I don't break anything.
If I'm wrong in anything I've said, please let me know, and if this is something I really need to take in to the shop to have done, I'm going to do so or if you have any advice, please let me know!
Thanks a ton,
Hank

Hmmm......I've never replaced a wheel stud on the Supra. I know the wheel bearings are sealed and should't be messed with. I am pretty sure once you take the brake dust cover off you should have access, but I am not sure. The studs need to be pressed. I would take the spindle off and take it to a shop.

The TSRM recommends removing the hub from the bearing so you can support the hub while pressing to avoid warping it, but I remember someone saying that there is a hole or cutout in the spindle that you can press them through so you can remove them without taking the bearings off in a pinch. They are press in though, and will need a shop (unless you happen to have your own press...).
I ended up taking it in, and the mechanic explained that the wheel bearings were non serviceable. The total ended up being $212. I trust the guys, but I probably shouldn't, so if they were feeding me BS just let me know. For some reason the bearing had to be taken off to get the new stud pressed in, and because of that, the bearing was ruined and had to be replaced. They said this was all because it was non-serviceable, but like I said, I really don't know that they're honest.
I appreciate the input.

Find a mechanic that isn't shady.

well thats the problem isnt it lol. how do you know until you get a quote and all that. i dont want to drive around to 5 shops and get quotes. even after all that, id still have no baseline price that i know would be 'good' to compare it too.
Yeah, it really sucks, but it's around $200 after about an hour labor and parts to fix that issue. I hope your head gasket has been addressed already, for your sake. I'm about to have to fix that, it's gonna run me nearly $2k because of the 10 hours of labor to fix it.

Christ! With parts I had my block BUILT, machined, forged pistons, ARP hardware, etc. for slightly more than $2000. You're getting pillaged if that's your expected price to fix your HG woes.

Who came up with this 500px wide BS?
There really just doesn't seem to be any decent mechanics around my area. I really don't know what the deal is. Now that I'm getting it fixed, I'm looking around for a boost controller, anyone have any advice as to where I could get one? I want to be able to turn it down for daily driving, and once in a while turn it up and have some fun.
I can't really seem to find any on the sites I'm checking.

Not sure what this has to do with wheel studs, but hit up the websites for AEM, HKS, and Greddy. They will have listings of dealers in your area. I know there are a few in Austin, and plenty more up north in the Dallas area.

I checked some out, and I appreciate the help. I'm definately going to get one of those before too long. Do you know of any good mechanics in Austin or south of it? I'm having a lot of trouble finding a decent one.
