Im still new to all this and decided to ask the experts, theres a guy selling a 1986.5 supra that had a blown head gasket, the guy replaced all the parts but now the car is over heating, he is asking 750 for it, but I have no idea if its worth the work?
stuff about the car: the out side condition looks great, espcially the black paint and it has 130,xxx miles on it and the interior can use some minor work.
Engine swaping is still out of my range, I was hoping to fix the engine and go from there.
86.5, so its probably an NA right? I am not sure it is worth saving an NA motor. After all is said and done a used 7MGTE is the way to go. Either way, it is gonig to soak up some cash.

yeah, I thought the same thing, and for a 17 year old I dont have much money to throw around, and from the looks of it, it probably would need a new engine anyway, guess i have to look for a better deal
don't bother with the GE. go straight for the GTE.
and i didn't know how to swap motors until i started ripping my old, tired GE out of my car when it got rodknock. get a good set of tools, devote some time, and learn. you'll have a whole new level of respect for yourself. (and save lots of money, too)
Best of luck trying to swap an engine in a Apartment parking lot. I think you may wanna look for friends with side yards or a garage you can borrow for several weekeneds.

Who came up with this 500px wide BS?
The #1 thing Ive heard from countless numbers of Supra owners is that they can soak up money better than most cars!! So when in doubt its better to find something in better condition.

Mine cost me $900 and its gonna take quite a bit more, just for a BHG (thats how mine was too). If you are gonna get it, might as well rip the whole engine out and have it checked to make sure you dont blow it again (thats the path i'm going down as well).
Like mentioned, swaps cost, but the 7mgte isnt too bad. I dont even make much money but it's turning out alright.
The ultimate choice is yours, but Supras = money unfortunately...
