1985 supra advice and engine swap...

Hello all..my first post..

First off, glad to find this site as it is very informative. I am going to buy a 1985 supra. It is silver, auto and has 281,000 kms on it. The engine still runs good, there are not rust patches but they is a little around the wheel well. and near the sunroof. It is for sale for $900 which is arond $700 US with another tranny and other spare parts. The rad will probably need to be changed and the windshield has a crack in it. Is this a good price for it?

Secondly, my friend has *SPARE* lex gs400 engine, will it fit in the supra and will i also have to do a tranny swap?

thx for all the help

Hi,
I have heard of people putting the 2jz engine in mk2 and mk3 supras, but i have yet to hear about the v-8 going in. you'll want to check out the big toyota performance shops in the states and other forums to see if this swap has been done. my gut tels me someone has done it.

some of thopse shops names comes to mid are powerhouseracing, vinny ten, performance factory, titan motorsports.
