Air Bag Removal?

Hey guys, I'm trying to help a friend of mine remove the passenger side airbag on his 94 Supra, have intentions of putting a nice gauge pod in its place....I just figured I'd consult some people who may have done it before...

Anything I need to know? Any links to any step-by-steps on the interweb?

Don't know, but a few thoughts. If you remove (disconnect) the airbag the SRS system may throw a trouble code and disarm the complete system. A few TN posters have had trouble resetting the SRS after reconnecting the airbag.

If you do start digging around in the area, disarm the system by removing the battery terminal and waiting at least 90 seconds. Protect the plug going to the airbag from stray voltage. The airbag contains a squib that will fire is voltage is applied.
