finnaly found out whats going on with this thing....(smoking)

well guys in my last thread of abotu discussing all thep ossibilities of why im getting smoke and i ruled out the turbo which i wasnt satisified with ti anyways so im upgrading again anyways i pulled the motor and pulled the head come tofind out there was a outrageous amount of carbon on the valves and plugs were completly fouled. also i started looking at the pistons and mnumber one i was able to rock in the cylinder....keep in mind this motor has 800 miles on it. well i started pulling pistons and measuring with a telescoping mic and a outside micrometer

come to find out my pistons have worn almost 6-7 thousands and i measured the bores and there straight but are almost 13 thousandths to big for the size of the pistons so what we have concluded is from the fact of jes clearances being .002-.003 that the bores were bored to .006 which is to big and my rings started wearing to try to comfesate for the machining and wore the shit out of my pistons so i called up the machine shop i took it to and there looking at it and find out if they see if its on my part or on theirs which we beleive its theres. but we shall see..

on better note what brand of piston should i go with this time

weisco
je
CP
Arias

cant afford ross.

thanks guys

Ross isn't anything special.

Weisco's have a huge following with Mk4 guys as do CP's. JE's have been the old standby for the 7M but some people don't like how much slap they have. It's never been proven to be detrimental but the skirts are a hair long IIRC.

Either the Weisco or the CP's come with rings, where as JE's don't (IIRC). Can't really go wrong either way as long as you get it all done at a reputable machine shop. Just don't pick up your pistons off ebay or something.

i think im gonna give the cp's a shot and see how they do they seem to be very reputable to the import world so imgonna try em plus they dont use a low tension oil ring like the je's do and my machinist said it could be ap roblem with the je's

Judging from what you've said previously, I don't think I'd invest much belief in what your machinist says. Lots of people have run JE's, and other than the piston slap I know of no faults with them.
