if this is a turbo engine, there is an easy way to check. look at the connectors that plug into the coil on top of the engine. the ones going to coil 1(passenger side of engine) have 1 dot on them. the middle coil connectors have 2 dots. the driver side have 3 dots. it doesn't matter which number 1 dot connector on the individual coil pack. coil 1 fires both cylinders once per revolution, but one cylinder is firing, and the other is exhausting.

those numbers you posted sound right to me anyways.

a lot of guys got or get those japanese imported motors, with so-called 30k on them, but they also have tons of idling time. most need to be taken apart and freshened up. some just drop them in, but about 50% end up taking them out to fix them anyway.

your motor for 950us shipped sounds like a great price, considering most guys just the motor for that much cash. if it is a good motor, it will be well worth the investment. if it is already out of its previous supra, it is hard to do any real testing like compression, smoking on startup or idle, gas mileage, etc...

ohh, not sure why there are not more supra guys here. TN is fairly new, and most of the toronto guys, and guys around the world have chosen supraforums to have their talks. even the cdn forum of supraforums is not that busy.

us canadian supra owners are just quiet i guess.

there are timing marks on the fronts of the cam gears. do they line up now?

if you moved the one cam and the cam gear, then you should go back and check and possibly move the CPS(Cam Position Sensor), which is also on the left side of the engine, at the front of the head.
