supra vs. skyline Q?

i dont own either but i was wondering why every import guy swears by skylines? throughout my car research, i found the 2jz motor to be superior to the RB motor. i get skylines are AWD but im over that. can anyone enlighten me about the big difference between the two. thanks

engine potential, pretty much the same. These two engines are both munsturr kraziiii....

people like the RB skylines because these were never imported to North America. Human beings will always dream of what they want. And most of them are probably nissan or honda fanatics, and know very little about the mk4 supra(trust me, i know and hang out with these people). Ask this question in a nissan forum and you'd probably get different responses than a toyota forum. In here, most people will probably favor the poopra.

if i had the money to import a skyline, i probably choose an r34, because it's so rare in the US. Until then, 2jz all teh waY!

both have their advantages & disadvantages. if u don't want 2 open the block 'til u get to 600hp, then the supra is the 1 for u. likewise if u want 2 build an engine then mayb the rb engines are for u. but the 2jz-gte is still going 2 b superior over the rb's. that's my 2 cents

Style, the MKIV supra won hands down. Ultimate buildable HP, the supra still wins (3l vs 2.5l). Best all around performance, the skyline in almost every category...acceleration, handling, top cornering speeds, 60 foot etc. Braking I'm not sure of, but I would expect it to be close.

This of course applies to the top spec skylines from the last 2 generations. The all wheel drive system and Nissan's dedication to making a supercar under a coupe body is clear, where Toyota wanted to make the hottest GT car on the road. Each succeeded in making their ideas happen. Never having driven a skyline, I can't comment on the interior comfort, but I would expect it to be similar to the Supra. That is it is a compromise of comfort for driver position and keeping your seat firmly planted.
