i have an 89 7mgte non turbo supra.i have little knowledge about mods but i liked to some to my supra and was wondering where i should start. its completly stock except i have an intake for it.
Depends. What're your goals, and what kind of $$$ do you have to throw at it? For anything above stock levels, the Head Gasket needs replaced which is usually a good couple weeks of downtime, and 400-500 with all the parts/labor to re-assemble it.
Intake, Exhaust, Intercooler Hard Pipes, Shim the stock wastegate, etc. All common mods.

Who came up with this 500px wide BS?
given it's a non turbo, there's a really limited order of upgrades. Headers, the exhaust from a turbo car (it's the ideal 2.5 inch you need), and you've about hit the wall. That said, they can still be some fun depending on what you want to do with it...just not all that fast
yeah the swap is a good idea only if you really dont want to buy a turbo'd supra, And if you just want to have it as a project you can work on and have fun doin it.But if you have the money for the turbo supra and dont have much patience for putting work in it with a little elbow greace then buying the turbo'd supra is a good idea.let everyone know what you decide and im sure they can all lend there ideas and suggestions.
yeah im having a similiar problem. found a great deal on a very clean nonturbo mkIII supra, but haivng a hard time tracking down parts. i decided it'd be a fun Autox build, so i dont need too much power, but ive only found headers. im hoping it doesnt have to pass E chack haha, so i can get a custom exhaust on there (goodbye cats haha) i f not ill still find an exhaust.
so i wont find too much for it then huh? i mean, found lots of suspension components but not much under the hood stuff. no hope for maybe rotating assembly?
if you have a GTE in the car, you already have a turbo car. If you have a non turbo, you have a GE. If you have a non turbo GTE, I'm surprised you have enough power to accelerate beyond 40mph
