Mine is so rusted that it's held together only by the paint that remains..
It seems a dealer replacement costs near $300.00 CAD!! Does anyone know where I might get an inexpensive replacement? or are there aftermarket replacements out there..
If not, how many of you have similar problem? Would there be an interest if I were to fabricate a composite version out of either Fiberglass or Carbon Fibre?
Selling cost for the FG one would be about $100.00 and CF about $160.00 based on a 10 unit order if there is enough interest

Are you talking about the cowl? I just took mine off. I was looking for one I even ask the dealership and it will cost me $380 cdn. Are you going to put FG or CF? Where are you gonna get it? Please let me know Im interested of getting one.
I've never made any parts for a Supra before.. I just got the car(s) recently (1.5 months now) and need to fix it up.. if there is demmand (I mean lots) then I guess I could make lips for the Supra, but it's not a really a high priority for me at this point.
Car stuff for me is a "hobby" not my profession. Although my profession does deal with fabrication..

hey,
we're all hobbiests .
you know there's a huge demand for them. you know i'll buy one.
suprang (if you've heard of him) has been doing replica bomex ones in some sort or flexible fiberglass which is wicked. except i don't like them as much as others.
if you do ever think of making these lips, i'd really love to see something euro like the east bear lip that all the european guys have been flossing (amazing). or even like a jdm relipca-ish with the brake duct coolers.
glad we have you in the famaily man.
got do you have pics of your car?
well just as an update... I managed to get a pristine trim piece. ( Like new in a wrapper!) and I have all the materials to make mould on hand now..
Problem is the trim piece is more complex than it looks. The mounting holes and the edges where they fit up against the body (and windshield) are all on different planes. It's going to be a bit tricky to design a mould where it can be easily trimmed to the final shape. Making the "raw" piece will be no problem. It's the cutting out that is going to kill me.
I'll keep you guys updated.
BTW Tosh if you are asking for pic of my Prelude here is it. The car is actually lower now, I took these while I was still on the "winter suspension". I've also fixed that gap between the bumper and the hood..
I haven't got around to taking pics of the Supra yet. But I'll try to take some in about two weeks or so, when it's comes back from the body shop.
BTW I'm working on a CF Sunroof panel for the Prelude right now
