1981 Supra with the little 5ME

Hi,
I'm new to this board and it looks like there is info on here I could use. I have a 1981 5me powered Supra. I have owned this car since 1984. It was my first car and I love it. My quest is to get a little more hp from the little single cam engine. I know most people hate the SOHC inline 6 in my car. It has been called a boat anchor among other names. But, it's the original engine that pulled my punk butt around for many thousand miles so I am going to keep it in the car. The engine is fresh and the tranny is a 5 speed. I'm getting ready to get the MK1 back on the road and will be spending some money on it this summer. So, anyone got any suggestions? I have always wanted to do a turbo 5me but I never hear any info on how to do it. A 5mge or later engine would be an easy swap and produce more power but I want to keep this 5me but gain a few more ponies. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TN. I'd love to see some pics!

I hate to say it as we like information to be posted here, but the MKI supra is heavily under represented here. One of the best sources of information for you is going to be at celicasupra.com. There are many MKI owners there that have done some mild, and some very wild things.
