Am I right in assuming since it's a 93 it's probably an MKIV? Anyway, it's also probably the same with an MK3 since the engine layout is pretty much the same.
The crank pulley has to come off, you might as well change the timing belt while everything else is out of the car. Maybe change the front main seal as well. To loosen my crank pulley bolt I used the starter bump method. I pulled my EFI fuses so the car will not start/run, but the engine would still turnover. I put a long breaker bar with socket on the bolt and placed the handle end of bar right on the ground; making sure that when I cranked the engine and the crankbolt rotated, the bar would push against the ground and not hit my car. Since my crank rotates clockwise, I placed the end of the bar on ground at the driverside. Then I got in the car and turned the key for not even a second (don't forget to pull the fuses so the car doesn't actually start), and that loosened the bolt right up. Once the bolt is out you then need a crank pulley puller to get it off the crankshaft.
I forgot what the torque spec on the bolt is, I thinks it's around 190ft/lbs. I had to buy a new torque wrench that went that high. You also want to use some Loctite or Toyota's threadlock on the bolt when putting it back so it doesn't back out after a while. And put some anti-sieze on the head of the crankshaft, just wherever the crankshaft touches the crank pulley so they don't fuse together.
You definitely want the manual on this one. There are a lot of torque specs you need to keep right. It took me 6 hours to change the water pump on my TT, I did the timing belt as well since everything was out. Good luck.
