brakes shoes

on my 87 supra, the rear breakes are locking up after e brake is on overnight. after instpeccting i have almost no shoes and the springs arent returning the shoes back... i cant find the shoes or hardware kit anywhere and i really dont feel like going to the dealer (worked at a few) didnt know if anyone knew where i could locate them

Stock brake shoes have very little material on them to begin with. I got fooled a long time ago after spending lots of $$$ for new shoes only to find that the amount of lining on them wasn't much more than the ones on the car.

agreed. I made the same mistake...once every 20 years isn't so expensive though

Disassemble, clean, grease, replace any broken springs and retainers, reassemble, and make sure the brake cables are free and you should be fine. So long as you don't rest steel on steel, you have enough pad.

its really is steel to steel tho pretty much, but i cant find anyone around my area with a hardware kit to get new springs.... they dont pull back at all. the car sat with the e brake on for 12 years lol, now the springs dont return at all
