how much are you looking to spend?
i have my 87, which the body is past gone. the brake pads and rotors are done, a/c shot, rear diff leaks a bit. i am going to start taking her apart shortly, taking out most of the small stuff, some of the big stuff, and the drivetrain for use later on. Right now, the car could still be driven to oshawa, and i could catch a train back.
the motor is solid, except for a recent knock sensor code which can be fixed more easily when it is out of the car, and a small leak at the back under side of the engine. i have narrored it down to either the oil pan, or the rear seal, either of which, can be replaced very easily while the engine is out.
the motor has 350,000kms on it.
i changed the oil every 5-6000km.
i owned this car since 1988, when i bought it with 67,000km
the bottom end is all original toyota from japan.
in 1998 at just under 200,000kms, i installed a new head, along with a hks stopper type MHG. this combo proved to be worth gold, as the engine has shown zero signs of a repeating BHG in 150,000kms!
After that rebuild, i stopped racing her as much, and only ran 10psi of boost on a washer mod on the wastegate.
before that, i used a superchips boost graphic to run boost between 10 and 14 at various RPM bands.
the best time this auto did was 15.0 @ 95mph on 10-14psi of boost, with a BHG.
after the final repair, and lowering boost to 10psi, it has consistanlty run 16.2 @85mph.
i could go on for days about this supra, but i fear the post word limit is fast approaching. This supra has been to more supra meets than any supra in the world. i can guarentee that.
