New 87 and Auto Tranny "?"

Found a like new condition 87 Supra non turbo, auto with 90,000 mi on it.
The only flaw I found is the rear bumper has a little paint pealing and wipers are completely gone/woreout.
Had it checked at American Toyota in Albuquerque NM. They said its very clean and they found nothing wrong.

I haven't had a chance to check it out at home as it is sitting 70 mi away at work.
There is a list in the glove box of what has been done to it.

The only thing I can find wrong is it can shift hard. The fluid was changed once but that was many years ago (will post how long when I get the car home).
The fluid smelled felt good.
If I shift it with the shifter and o/d switch its fine but if I am hard on the gas it shifts hard.
I am betting it needs the fluid changed, I have had a couple other Toyota that had tranny problem that was fixed with either a change or a change and additive.

The trans was flushed in 97 at 58,000 mi.

Is it still ok to have the trans flushed at this time or would a fluid exchange be better?

The hard shifting is getting better the more I drive it.
It only shifts hard when I am hard on the gas, other wise it shifts fine.
