intake cleaning

can you use carb cleaner instead of intake/throttle body cleaner on fuel injected cars or will it harm parts of the cars sensors, what is the difference between carb/choke cleaner and air intake/throttle body cleaner. and my last question is I heard you can clean the pistons, valves, and throttle body if you spray the cleaner in a vaccume hose while the car is running at 2000 rpms is this true, and does it matter what hose you disconect to do this or is it any vaccume hose

No, you need to use sensor safe intake cleaner.

There is a product out there called Sea Foam that will clean the combustion chamber. You hook it to a vac line on the intake and let it draw the stuff in.

Which vacuum hose do you hook it up to?

Brake Booster line. It's the fat one coming off the back of the manifold.

Would using a can of BG 44K work? Pop it open and use that brake booster line to suck it all up?

I have never used it, so I don't know.

I usually use the PCV line.

PCV? Positive Crankcase Ventilation? ....
That doesn't suck into the combustion chamber...

As for BG 44K, it is not the same as seafoam. I personally wouldn't just suck random fluids into the engine.

He probably meant the hose going from the PCV to the intake manifold. Spray into the manifold side of the hose, not the PCV side.

Any large fat lines going into the inake manifold are fitting to seafoam a car with, I wouldn't use BG44k though.

Green = PCV return to manifold.
Yellow = Brake Booster line
Orange = Another line into the mani.

Ok, cool. So pop one of these hoses with the car running and let it suck up all the seafoam, that's it?

Pretty much,

1) Pour 1 cup of Seafoam into a plastic cup.
2) Remove brake booster line (separate it at the connector on the firewall, and use the hose itself to suck up the fluid)
3) Having someone keeping on the gas a little bit, allow the brake booster line to suck up all the seafoam.
4) Once the cup is dry, turn OFF the car.
4b) Re-attach the brake boster line.
5) Let it sit for 5 minutes or so.
6) Start 'er back up and drive around for 15 minutes. You'll smoke for a good period of time, but it's just burning out everything. Nothing's broken.

And that's it
