oil pressure

my oil pressures kinda scaring me. b4 my oil change it would roam around a little below the 20psi mark at idle not its around 40 and today it almost went to 80..is this normal?

normally we like increased oil pressures...to a certain extent. Of course, your increase doesn't seem right given you only changed the oil. Did you go with something super thick this time like a 20w50 or more?

Actually, for idle, that's incredibly high.

Idle pressure should be @ 4.3psi (or greater, but idle pressures nearing 40psi shouldn't be (except for maybe during a cold start)).

If this is cold start pressure, you can expect it to be different, wait for the car to warm up. The 7M uses a high flow, low pressure setup.

yes when its cold itll hover around 40. but when warm maybe around the 20 mark. no its a 10w-40

lets say i get a different oil pressure gauge. how would i hook it up and to what?

same with a boost gauge. ive heard people say stock ones arnt reliable
