Idle up and down is the IAC doing it's job. The computer is seeing too much fuel, then not enough and opening and closing the valve to try to compensate for the air it sees going through the meter. It likely is a leak, and vacuum is one source as good as any to start with. Also, any connections post air flow meter is another thing to look into. Finally, if there is nothing else, you get into intake manifold and throttle body gaskets, or actual leaks from damage to pipes and the intercooler. Had anything apart recently?
