Question GE to GTE

are GE to GTE swaps pretty difficult or can a releative novice who has more know how with hondas than anything else be able to do it? What all would I need.

For anyone who was been reading all my rediculous posts please bear with me I know there bare minimum about toyotas. Putting money into hondas is getting very expensive and where I live good solid hondas are hard to come by.

If you think Honda's are too expensive to upgrade you need to stay away from Supras.... hell stay away from 15-20 year old cars in general.

Not only are these cars far less common but that means that after market parts are less common and generally a lot more expensive than parts for a Civic.

So many people are working with hondas today that It is getting extremley hard to do something new and different yes I do know that hondas are a lot cheaper to work with but I am on a somewhat limited budget and to keep up with everyone else who has 10 grand to drop into a honda is hard. Toyota's and most RWD cars are quickly becoming the up and commer in the automotive performance scene.

Depends on GE to GTE swap. If your going to go the GE-T route wich is bolting a turbo to your GE, then its not all that hard.

If your talking about going 100% GTE components in a GE car, then thats another story. Going GTE in a GE vehicle involves having a whole complete engine harness and ECU along with everything out of a Supra turbo's engine bay that isn't available on the GE bay.

Example: The distributor coil will have to be replaced by a Coil Pack Igniter. Without this, the car will never ever start nomatter if everything is connected right.

I'm not 100% sure about the GE to GTE swaps in Supras, but I know in Cressidas, alot of cutting and splicing is needed to be done from the Engine harness to body loom. I think Supra is plug and play but don't take my word for it. I know both my Cressidas required it and having two 91 Cressidas and one had an 87-88 electronics and the other 90+, it was a bitch cuz copying off the other car wasn't possible.

Basic mechanics, there the same, but the turbo has alot of other differences vs the nonturbo. So be specific and you'll get your answers.

You know IOWA, you really should have kept all of this in ONE thread... everyone's advice is getting rather diluted from being spread across 4 different threads.
