Clear 2 piece tail conversion......

Hi there,

first post on here, just thought you might like to see a pair of clear OEM style 2 piece tails that were commissioned by a U.S owner. I think these are cracking - what do you reckon?

A bit harsh Sir, but all a matter of taste - how about in white?

Not quite sure what you mean about the 'pimp' thing as the unit has been de constructed and a direct copy of the original lens refitted after chrome spraying the backing before reassembly.

It's hardly 'Rice' either is it?

Wolfie, great to see you here as well as on the other forums.

For those that have not seen these before, there are a few owners on supramania that have these units as well as the corner marker lights and the quality is extremely high from all reports and photos. If I didn't have so many mechanical bits to finish...along with just having paid all the closing fees on my new house, I'd be on a set of 87/88 ones tomorrow.

Morning Bob,

And thanks for the welcome I have no idea what that post from damnmuffins was about - he must be a bit of a front bottom

I am indeed pretty well known on a number of Toyota forums worldwide, for my range of exclusive clear lenses, many of which are unavailable elsewhere. These include the rears, fronts and bubble type side repeaters for the '88 - '92 Mk3 Soop.

Only 8 pairs are installed anywhere in the world, 6 in U.K ,one in Europe and the black pair's in California IIRC

I'm not selling them on here as that would contravene forum regs as I'm not a paid up affiliate/ trader.
I can say that the guy 'bribed' me by paying $500 for those , but that did include sourcing a near mint pair of originals, making the lenses, stripping and chroming the backings before refitting and polishing to a mirror finish, and shipping which cost $100.

All the U.K conversions have been done by me as well, but I don't know what happened to the other pair as they were sold thru one of my European dealers. I always like to get pics of my work when fitted, as it's only then I can fully appreciate it, which gives me a lot of satisfaction

Here's a pic of of one of the lenses against the original.....

I don't have those exact ones, but:

the clear bubble turn lights are interesting, but not of huge interest.
