inside the cylinders

when i had my headgasket replaced i was talking to the mechanic whil he pulled the head off and you could still see the cross hatch on the cylinder wallls and there wasnt a single scratch...could this be a sign of someone rebuilding it b4?? the car has 108000 miles . what do you guys think. ALSO...where the vin is punched into the firewall on the firewall it says its a MA70 but on the vin by the A pillar it says its a MA71. all the rest of the VIN numbers match..whats goin on here?

Not unusual for the cross hatching to still be present enough to see at 100K or more.

MA70 is the chassis code for a 7M series MKIII Supra turbo or non. MA70 in the VIN specifies N/A and MA71 in the VIN specifies turbo.
