Steering wheel "lash"

I just fixed my Power steering and noticed that there is alot of lash (play) in the the steering wheel. It seems I have about 5 degrees of play before I actually start "feeling" the front wheels turn.

I'm guessing that it was not so noticible when I had no power steering because the car felt so heavy anyway..

Is there anyway to tighten this up? I don't think it is the pinion gear in the Rack.. That was just replaced..

my 87 has a bit of play as well, especially when compared to both my brothers 89, and my other supra, the 91.

i never road raced or abused my supra. it always had that play. i wouldn't worry about it man.

what you can do is come out to a monthly meet and try some of the other 87's steering wheels to ease your anxiety.

we had about 30 guys last friday night, and then headed to woodbine and 16th for a coffee. the place was very thinned out, but from the debris in the lot, there was some major crowds before midnight.
