old gas

the gas question is the car I bought a while back is getting ready for a new engine but the gas in it is at least 7 years old the inspection sticker says last inspected was 2000 so probably the gas is that old too. what should I do with the gas I was thinking just syhering it out and put new gas in or is there a way to make gas new like octane booster or any thing.

Octane booster would probably only make matters worse after that amount of time. Remove the old gas and try using it in your lawnmower.

Trust me, even the lawnmower will not start well on it...have starting fluid (ether) or mix with waste oil on each oil change and send to the disposal per local regulations.

thanks guys I was not going to use it unless there was a way to get it new like again I just pulled the drain plug and dumped it in a un useable gas can and put new fuel in it now I just need to get the newer motor dropped in and it will be ready.

I wanted to write and tell every one you where right. I put the old gas in a lawn mower a week ago and it did not want to start and when it did start it finally died so I had to syhpone the gas out and put new in, and it worked fine. To every one good call I would have used it in my brother Blazer and probably got a black eye. so thank every one.
