Found a Supra, is it worth buying?

Hi everyone!

I found a 1988 Supra (auto) in decent condition for $1500. I'm gonna go take a look at it soon. The owner claims that it's got 182k miles on it. He also says
Quote:
the engine is a recent, less then 1 year, JDM motor with a new head gasket and bolts. The radiator and front brake rotors and pads are brand new. The body if straight except it is missing one piece of molding between the driver side front wheel and door and the driver side door handle molding is cracked.
I emailed him and he says one other problem is that the heater doesn't work at low speeds.

So I'm wondering if you Supra pro's could give me some info on what kinda probs to look out for. Problems that are common to Supra's from around 1988. Also would it be wise to buy this car or would you guys say to pass it? I'm sort of in a bind cos I need a car to get to work and winter is coming. Winters suck here in Washington state...

Thanks

the fan doesn't work at low speeds is because it has a bad resistor. Its an easy fix.
