I have everything off and disconnected. the only thing that is left is the bell housing and one engine mount. how do you get to all the bolts on the bell housing I have only 3 off and how to unbolt engine mount on the intake manifold side.
You don't separate them. Pull off the driveshaft. Unbolt the tranny carrier to frame bolts, and pull the engine and transmission together. FAR FAR FAR easier than trying to do a tranny with the engine in the car.

Unbolt the tranny from the inside. It's something like for 10mm bolts, then it just pulls out. Of course, you'll need to get under the shifter boot for all this.

I was reading from the supramania website. I don't understand how to get the drive shaft disconnected. Do you just pull on the engine and transmission and it will come out on its own or do you disconnect it and then pull and the hoist will do the rest. and please help with the motor mount question to above this.
They are 19mm nuts (IIRC) that you can access from below the car, one on each side.

You remove the 4 nut/bolt combos from the differential side, then unbolt the carrier bearing (middle part of the drive shaft that's got a support on it, bolted to the frame) from the frame. Once it's hanging down, pull the driveshaft towards the rear of the car. . It only slides into the transmission, there's nothing on that side bolted in holding it there.

There is something holding me up. I have disconnected the motor mounts and when I lifted the engine you can see where it wants to come out. You can see the light between the engine and the mount and one just fell out when lifting. Now something is holding me up. When I am lifting the engine the car starts to raise with the engine what could be holding it in. I know its not the mounts.
You should have a buddy give you a hand. It helps while one of you lifts the motor the other can look around an see if anything is still connected. you sure you disconnected the shifter, driveshaft, wiring harness from ecu, coolant and fuel hoses, battery cables to block, and the one I forgot, powersteering line to P/S pump. you might have to get a engine hoist balancer. it hangs between hoist and engine so that you can pull motor and trans at a very steep angle without a problem. You might have to move your motor side to side to loosen up from wherever its getting stuck at.
Oh make sure the trans mount and bracket is disconnected. The bolts are 14mm's. if you disconnected all those mounts and all wires an hoses an stuff it should come out.
yeah I pulling them together. and I disconnected the transmission mount all the harness, every thing. I will get back to it tomorrow and write whats happens again thanks guys for all the help. And Jeeves you are the man are you a toyota mechanic because you have alot of info. I have been reading different post.
Nope. Just been workin' on Supras and doing Toyo's for goin' on 7 years now. If you're pulling them together. Check the speedo cable, and cluch lines. I destroyed a clutch slave cylinder line the first pull I did, and near missed the speedo cable the second time.
Clutch is on the drivers side, near where the block and tranny meet, the speedo attaches to the passengerside, under the shifter area. It's the only thing plugging in that far back.
I am trying to think of other things that might hang ya up, but it's hard to say. I'm not sure where in the pulling process you are.
