theft deterrent system

I need help I picked up a 86.5 supra that had a thrown rod I put a diff. Motor in it. The problem that I am having now is it will only crank over (won’t start and does not have a tack signal). The car has anti-theft on it. How do I check it, reset, or by past it. I would also like to get the pin out chart for it. If anyone can help that would be very helpful. I would like to find a pin out chart for the 86.5 ECU ver. a 90 ECU I know the stock 90 has a diff mapping and would like to use that ECU if I can.

Get out.
Shut the doors.
Lock them with the key.
Unlock them with the key.

That's how you 'disarm' the alarm. The differences between the 86.5 ECU (7M-GE) and the 90 ECU (7M-GE) are incredibly minor and are mainly due to construction and the wiring harness. There's nothing really to be gained with that change and converting the wiring to 1989+ Style will be a nightmare.

I have done that with the key and have had no luck. I have the electrical wiring diagram book from toyota. I need to find out how to test td computer or by past it if poss.

I have the 90 harennes and ecu was given with motor, was hopeing since the 90 ecu fits in place for the 86.5 ecu I hoped that would work

I believe the body harnesses were different too.

Have you tried the other door? If the alarm key sensor fell off the back of the lock, it won't detect it. However, if the car cranks, it's not the TD system. If it kicks in, you'll turn the key and nothing will happen.

the body is diff. but wires (color and sizes) are the same so its easy to de-pin and change the connector over about 10 mins of work.

Just rechecked wiring diagram and found out that you are right about the starter. The relay is grounded through the TD system.

Now the fun begins electrial problems are so much fun. Will recheck all fuses, and grounds first. Then I will start ringing out all the wiring. Will let you know what I find, This might take a few weeks for me to get done.

Thanks for your help and time Jeeves

Look at the Cam Position sensor wiring, it's most commonly the reason for cranking and cranking and cranking. Occasionally it'll act like it's going to catch, then backfire, then continue cranking. Due to it's location, the wires often gets baked and it loses it's Ic (IIRC) signal, and without it the TCCS won't let the car start.
