Supercharger?

My mechanic friend was telling me that I should look into supercharging my 87 NA. It sounded stupid at first, but the more i think about it, the more appealing it becomes. I just wanna know why i never read any threads about people who've tried it. Is it possible? are there any articles or sites that detail the process? thanks

possible: Yes. Done, Yes. Documented, not really. All custom fun. It's a much more expensive route to boosted fun than just slapping on the many available turbos and manifolds out there. That said, you could be the first well documented one if you have the drive to do it.
