86.5 Starter Problems

If anyone can help! I have an 86.5 Supra that has a starter problem, when I turn the key sometimes it will start normal and sometimes it won't turn over at all, nothing, also same with the horn sometimes it will beep and sometimes nothing, same with the cruise control sometimes it works and sometimes not and last but not least alarm system rarely ever works sometimes it will. I have replaced the starter at least half a dozen times but always the same problem. Any suggestions!!!
Are these components wired together or something?

Other than 12V grounds, there's nothin really tying those systems together. The starter and alarm, possibly, but the horn (alarm and steering wheel horns are different) and cruise control? Nope.

If the alarm has been set off, it'll kill the ignition which will give you the not-turning over effect. When you turn the key, does anything click? At all? The contacts in the early model steering wheels, cruise control panel liked to be intermittent in the two vehicles I'd used cruise control in. Does the switch on the dash light up or no?

The horns are amazingly simple, so, I'll post their diagram:

Edit: All the brown and white wires on the lower side of the drivers side are landed on grounds right? I believe those grounds serve most of the systems you're having problems with.

Gee, Thanks for the diagrams that will help major big time!!!
I set up a remote starter switch and ran the wires from my battery via a fuse block and to the solinoid wire or the smaller of the two wires running to the starter and I will even get the same reaction as turning the key sometimes nothing at all and that is a direct connection straight to the battery and the starter, no ignition system at all, and this is very mind boggling? The only thing that works 100% is when nothing is working I have to pop the hood and I connect a remote start switch the trigger type and it cranks over every time. I thought that the remote starter button did the same thing??? When I turn the key the lights turn on as if to start but there is no cranking, I would like to think the alarm would have something to do with it but the alarm module has been changed out twice and it to rarely ever works. I tried locking the passenger door as stated on other posts but it is just dead and it will come on whenever it feels like same as the horn. I will push the horn button from time to time to see if it fels like working but most of the time nothing, I never know when any of them will work, same goes for the cruise control, the light on the rocker switch comes on but no cruise control, very annoying to say the least.

You can't just jump the starter like that. You have to apply +12V to both the signal wire AND the large gauge starter wire. Doing it to either one will result in nothing (dunno what happens if you apply +12V to JUST the small signal wire, I've never tried that.) I'm sort of surprised you can start it with a trigger like that, the alarm system I though prevented that.

That is just it maybe if the alarm was working as it should then it would prevent the start, since it rarely ever works at all it is like no alarm at all. I have owned the car for 8 years and the alarm has turned itself on as it should if all things are right maybe only 5 times in all it is a shock to me when I go to unlock my car door and the alarm goes on, just wish I could get it to work all the time. The remote start button is really strange because it is running staraight to the battery and the small starter wire and it still will start some time and not all the time like the ignition key. I don't know what the differance is between the starter button by the way is inside the care in the dash for easy access and why the remote starter switch works 100%? Starter button is not running threw the ignition. Got me stumped.
